Charity: Water

Earlier this month I had the pleasure and honor of photographing Charity: Water’s sixth annual gala at the 69th Regiment Armory in NYC. The evening included a live auction hosted by Jessica Biel and Tyler Perry, during which enough money was raised to provide clean water for 100,000 people in Tanzania, Sierra Leone and Cambodia. Seriously, these folks do amazing work. (From their site:) “Charity: Water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects.” How cool is that?!

It was so wonderful to look out from the altar and be able to see every one of our guests.

Union Station, our reception site, wasn’t originally on my radar. But when we saw the space we were totally taken with the East Hall’s history and personality. I was worried that the space was going to be too traditional. But, working with vendors I laid out my ideas for a modern, organic, Mediterranean feel dominated by green, ivory and brown. Once we landed on the idea of “bringing the outdoors in,” the whole thing took shape….” (read more here).
